Communication and Community Engagement
This will be my highest priority as a Board of Education member. Effective communicaiton and robust community engagement are cornerstones for creating trust within our community. Communication is a two-way endeavor that requires both listening and responding effectively. By engaging with all stakeholders, we can create meaningful collaboration.
Supporting our teachers, staff, and administration for our children's success
I want to work to make sure our Teachers, Staff, and Administration are all fully supported. By advocating for effective resource allocation and making smart decisions that benefit the staff and administration, we set the foundation for our teachers to create a positive learning environment for our children. Our board should be working to provide guidance for support of our principals, teachers, and staff so they can stay focused on the cirriculum and caring for our children. I've seen first hand when our teachers are supported, our children have the chance to succeed.
Working together to properly maintain our current facilities and adequately plan for growth
We have all seen the growth that has occurred in all parts of Moore County. We have also seen what that means for our schools and classrooms. As a community, we will need to work together to find the right priorities in terms of improvements and upgrades, as well as new schools. My goal will be to use effective communication and community engagement to review our facilities plan and update that plan to accommodate anticipated growth. While the state provides good resources for this, our local Towns and Villages also have future growth plans that can be leveraged to understand where resources may be needed next.
